I hope it's nothing serious and you get well soon.
I actually spent some time with DimDim last night by having a meeting with myself on 2 PCs in my home office. Overall, it's very impressive. There are a couple of things I don't care for.
- The meeting host loses the built-in DimDim chat applet when they share their screen. That's why I think Phil's work on the chat room will be very helpful. The host can open the Phil Chatt window (sorry, I couldn't resist!) and use that as an alternate.
- This may not be a big deal, but there is no remote control feature. The "presenter" can be transferred to any other participant which allows anyone in the meeting to share their screen (one presenter at a time, of course). The host is always in control and can pull back control at any time.
- The screen sharing works well, but the host or anyone sharing their screen needs to be sensitive to those with lower resolution screens since the screen is reproduced inside a browser window. It would be best if we can somehow take a survey of resolutions before starting a meeting. I may launch my meetings inside a virtual machine so I can control it easier.
I hope to make time soon to have another meeting with myself so I can take some screen shots and create a page here that describes how it works so those who are new to DimDim know what to expect.
The only thing I didn't test was the audio quality and recording the session.
